I am not a faculty or student at Purdue, just a very proud community member. What Purdue is doing for the Ukrainian scholars is worthy of the community's pride and support.

I live relatively close to the proposed new LOVE's truck stop. I am a fan of LOVE's truck stops and frequent the one towards Indy quite a bit in my travels. LOVE's seems to run clean and well organized facilities. It has been obvious for quite some time that the location just off I-65 was going to be developed into something. There has been quite a bit of ground prep to the area. That all said, I question putting such a large facility that is focused on gas, oil and other chemicals so close to the Wildcat Creek. The facility will sit on the waters edge practically. The creek is known to flood in that area every Spring and during summers. Are we sure we want so many chemicals so close to the water? I assume the die is cast and the county has approved the facility. But, wouldn't it have been smarter to put the Dollar General currently on the other side of I-65 here and the LOVE's on the other side of the highway? It would have been perfectly positioned between I-65 and the Hoosier Heartland....and more importantly away from a treasured local waterway that flows into the Wabash River. I hope our county leaders take all this into consideration and require LOVE's to be extra cautious when building and running this station.
