$50M PROJECT PLANNED AROUND DOWNTOWN’S JOHN PURDUE BLOCK
Plans are coming together for a pair of Indianapolis firms on a project that will surround the John Purdue Block, a 19th century landmark in downtown Lafayette, most recently the home for 42 years to Preston’s of the North.
Antone Najem, founder and owner of Indianapolis-based Third Street Ventures, said construction could start in 2024 on a $50 million project that will make the John Purdue Block a focal point in an apartment and retail development that fills in much of that section of Second Street, between the South and Columbia street bridges in and out of downtown Lafayette.
