$725M CATERPILLAR PLAN GETS LAFAYETTE’S BLESSING
Huge economic pieces were falling into place all over for Lafayette Monday night.
“It’s a wonderful night for our community with all the projects,” Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski said at one point during an agenda that included somewhere in the range of $900 million in public and private investments.
Among the action:
• Lafayette City Council greeted news that Caterpillar was considering putting $725 million into an expansion and equipment upgrades at its Lafayette Large Engine Center by committing to 10-year tax abatement agreements for the real estate and personal property.
