A busy Purdue trustees edition
All the news that fits from a particularly newsy meeting for Purdue trustees. Attorney General Rokita gets specific on threat to sue WLPD over ‘sanctuary city’ allegations. ‘Jeopardy’ champ rolls
There were a lot of moving parts for Friday’s Purdue trustees meeting – not all of which could fit in here today. (Look for a few more items to come later.) But here are several highlights, including:
A new ‘One Health Initiative’ that will realign parts of campus.
Pay raises for basketball coaches Matt Painter and Katie Gearlds.
A dean finds his name on a facility where he got his start at Purdue.
A look at a $187 million residence hall/classroom center that will be the first piece of Purdue’s Indianapolis campus.
And hints about another enrollment record looming this fall on the West Lafayette campus.

UNIVERSITY LOOKS TO REALIGN FOR ‘PURDUE ONE HEALTH INITIATIVE’
Purdue will pull together a university-wide initiative in health and life sciences called the Purdue One Health Initiative in the coming years. Described Friday during Purdue’s trustees meeting, the concept comes on the heels of three other major initiatives in the past two years – the creation of the Daniels School of Business, the Purdue-Indianapolis campus, and the AI and computer science push of Purdue Computes.
