A STEP TOWARD CENSURE LEAVES WL SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS STILL AT ODDS
A West Lafayette school board attempt to rein in aspects of board member Dacia Mumford’s monthly write-ups about meetings is still at a bit of a standoff.
Amy Austin, school board president, reported Monday night that in a recent meeting with Mumford and the school district’s attorney, Mumford declined to stop publishing names of people who spoke during public comment portions of school board meetings.
That had been among the beefs in September, when a majority of the school board called for the meeting as a precursor to a potential censure of Mumford for publishing monthly minutes and personal commentary about school board meetings that they said had become distractions and against school board policy.
