Last heard from on the frenzied logistics to set a polling site at Purdue – a move amid heavy criticism of potential voter suppression when an initial list of early and Election Day vote centers offered none on the West Lafayette campus – the university said it had “submitted an official application” the Tippecanoe County Election Board to host an Election Day site in a gym at the Co-Rec.
The offer was made public late Friday morning, minutes after the Election Board added six hours of early voting Oct. 24 at the Co-Rec, but didn’t move to place an Election Day vote center on campus as students and voting advocates had pressed to get.
