ANOTHER LOOK AT ANVIL 26 PROJECT ON OLD HOME HOSPITAL PROPERTY
Last seen in late 2023, Anvil 26 – an apartment complex proposal from Lafayette-based Iron Men Properties on one of the remnants of former Home Hospital property – had a commitment from the city for a forgivable loan for part of the work and the zoning set to go at the northeast corner of 26th and South streets.
What didn’t come together was an agreement to use 60 spots leased from the Home Hospital garage just behind the property, along Cason and 26th streets, to accommodate the proposed three-story, 65-unit structure.
Fast forward to Thursday, Iron Men Properties was back before the Lafayette Redevelopment Commission with a redesigned project that will be taller, at four stories, and include some of the parking built into a ground floor garage.
