PURDUE PLAYS FOR THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The NCAA Tournament final tips at 9:20 p.m. in Phoenix, with Purdue looking for its first title against Connecticut, which is going for a second consecutive championship. The game’s on TBS and on radio at WAZY-96.5 FM in Greater Lafayette.
A few things:
Taking it to the streets: Sunday, the morning after Purdue beat North Carolina State to advance to the finals, West Lafayette police posted a bit of a congratulatory note to the students and the rest of the throngs who piled into State Street in West Lafayette’s Village area, a few blocks from campus. Police closed the street between Chauncey Avenue and Andrew Place and kept them closed for nearly five hours. The upshot from police: “Let’s see a repeat tomorrow night!”
