Bruno’s is back. New generation finds a new home for West Side icon
A new generation of the Itin family will move Bruno’s, a West Lafayette and Purdue landmark, into space next to Brokerage Brewing Co.
Three months after the final pizzas went out the door at Bruno’s Pizza and Big O’s Sports Room on the West Lafayette Levee, a second generation of the Itin family have lined up a new home for the iconic restaurant.
The new Bruno’s location will be attached to Brokerage Brewing Co. on Covington Street, just north of Sagamore Parkway, with three of Bruno Itin Jr.’s daughters and founder Bruno Itin Sr.’s granddaughters – Holly Beattie, Angela McDonald and Krista Rodriguez – running things.
Beattie said the move started coming together two days after the final rush Feb. 8 at Bruno’s, before the Itin family cleared out to make way for an Indianapolis-based developer’s plans for a $250 million mixed-use complex of apartments and retail space near the northeast corner of State and River.
