Cameras in courtroom test coming to Tippecanoe County

Indiana Supreme Court has asked five courts across the state to spend four months find out if they can handle cameras in the courtroom. The pilot project starts Dec. 1 for Tippecanoe Circuit Court

A Tippecanoe County court will be among five across the state that could play a pivotal role in the coming months in deciding whether video and audio recordings will be allowed in Indiana courtrooms.

The Indiana Supreme Court issued an order Monday, calling for a four-month pilot project that will lift restrictions on cameras and other broadcasting equipment in Tippecanoe Circuit Court, as of Dec. 1.
