Confidentiality agreements, site selection memos, more requested in SK hynix lawsuits

During a Dec. 1 hearing in a pair of lawsuits filed by three West Lafayette residents challenging a city rezoning decision that cleared the way for a $3.87 billion SK hynix semiconductor facility, attorney Tom Williams told a judge that the plaintiffs were still trying to extract records they believed existed – or should exist – in the hands of a number of players connected to the situation.

At the time, Williams compared the effort to sort out a record of the rezoning process to going through “a hay mound.”

Some of what he’s after became clearer this week in filings that cast a wide net, laying out attempts to get a series of records from entities not named in the lawsuits, including Purdue, the Indiana Economic Development Corp., the Tippecanoe County Area Plan Commission, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and the Tippecanoe County Emergency Management Agency.
