I like the West Lafayette Schools & the City/Redevelopment Commission working together. "The Tippecanoe County Way!"

Surely you jest: 1300 square feet for $300,000.00 on fourth st! Who would be nutty enough to buy one?

It's just another way to price the locals out of near-downtown living. But wouldn't it be fun to watch the traffic go by?

The old Pub was a great place for locals to eat, drink and enjoy life. Most things going on downtown now are a good way to make it unaffordable for families to live. I think it's a bit short-sighted of the powers in charge to support 2 bedrooms apartments for downtown. It won't build community but it will bring in income for out of town developers to rent short term to AirB&B and transient students. Best hope is that it supports downtown restaurants.

Agree about the likely attraction for AirBnB investors. So how does a development like this work, regarding management? Is there something like an HOA?

Asking, because although the IN laws make it difficult to ban AirBnBs (kudos to WL, Laf, TippCo for making that happen in R1 zones), HOAs can ban them for their properties.
