Duck In Diner, salvaged U.S. 52 landmark, on the move … again

Things didn’t work out in Clinton County’s efforts to save the abandoned ‘50s diner at U.S. 52/Indiana 28. A new owner promises he’ll get it done near Covington

DUCK IN DINER, SALVAGED U.S. 52 LANDMARK, ON THE MOVE … AGAIN

Last seen, the abandoned, stainless steel diner at U.S. 52 and Indiana 28 was on a flatbed being tucked away in a gas station warehouse down the road, saved from a salvage yard until it could be restored and find a place in or around Frankfort as a restaurant or community attraction.

That was two years ago.

Last weekend, the old Duck In Diner was on the move, again. This time, more than 50 miles away, with fresh promises of restoration and eventual reopening.

“We had to give up the dream,” Shan Sheridan, CEO of the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, said last week. “Our time kind of ran out before we could get things done. … But I’m happy to say, we think it’s in good hands.”
