ELECTION BOARD FIXES BALLOTS, SETS UP REVOTING POSSIBILITIES AFTER CANDIDATE’S NAME DISAPPEARED

A day after discovering that a Tippecanoe Township trustee candidate’s name disappeared from ballots for nearly two weeks after early voting started, the Tippecanoe County Election Board agreed to set up and additional early voting site dedicated to giving voters a chance to recast their ballots due to the error.

An estimated 424 voters in Tippecanoe Township – north of West Lafayette and in and around Battle Ground – cast ballots between Oct. 9 and Oct. 21 that didn’t include the name of the name of Holden Mugford, the Democratic candidate running against Republican incumbent Bill Jones for township trustee.
