Feds evaluate Halleck Building’s future after court leaves downtown Lafayette

FEDS EVALUATE HALLECK BUILDING’S FUTURE AFTER COURT LEAVES
The future of the Halleck Federal Building, opened in 1932 as a post office in downtown Lafayette, is up in the air after federal court clerk’s office and bankruptcy court moved out at the end of May.
The U.S. General Services Administration, which oversees federal government property, said the office is reviewing uses for the limestone building that takes up a block of Ferry Street, between Third and Fourth streets.
