Plus, a fix coming in 2026 for rugged Ninth/Kossuth, as pavers installed in 2021 fail. Another Tony for Lafayette Jeff grad. An update on delayed repairs for one-lane Indiana 225 bridge
For the record, there will be no drainage issues after our Q&A at Second Flight. I really hope to meet folks from the community even if they are only there for Dave Bangert.
No rule against blasting horns on your stereo. You could loop the Bad Girls "Toot toot, hey, beep beep!" chorus, featuring that giddy synthesized police whistle, the air raid siren from War Pigs, or the brassy intro from Sir Duke. Or just bust out the firecrackers (your property only) cause it's Indiana.
I am glad they have come to thier senses and will be removing that brickwork at 9th and Kossuth streets. I often think that there is a mentality in our community that you can engineer stuff (roads and buildings etc) like we are a small town, but we are in fact a meduim sized city--and then the stuff fails because we are using it far heavier than it was intended.
Manhole project on 9th complete? Uh, what about the street drains from Greenbush to Salem? The street is narrow and avoiding collisions has us hitting teeth jarring drains - for the past 20 years...
I called vs engineering and they think all trees on 9th St will need removed for the stormwater and bump out project, including trees where there are no current sidewalk issues present.
So, the LPD (recipient of about half of the city's operating budget) is in hot pursuit of honkers? The jokes write themselves.

Free the honkers!

Hear, hear Matthew! Too bad we have to pay for this road all over again.
It would be curious to study the amount of weight that transverses our streets over the year and compare it year-over-year.
