Lafayette Country Club changes hands
Marc and Jessica Muinzer buy century-old golf course, club. A Q&A. Plus, Court of Appeals agrees to hear oral arguments in Delphi murders case. And will Sen. Deery’s win fuel push to close primaries?
The Lafayette Country Club, featuring a nine-hole golf course and dining facilities along South Ninth Street first developed in 1909, has new ownership.
Marc and Jessica Muinzer, who have large holdings in the campus-area housing near Purdue, closed on a deal to buy the club April 30. The terms of the deal with LCC Partners LLC, a group that had ownership of the club since 2006, haven’t been disclosed. County records show the 72-acre site is assessed at $6.3 million.
As things shake out for a club with 400 members, Marc Muinzer took some questions about the deal and what’s next.
Question: What did deal include in terms of facilities and property?
Marc Muinzer: The acquisition was a complete acquisition of the Lafayette Country Club and included all facilities, the entire historic campus, clubhouse, golf course, tennis courts, pool, golf carts, furnishings, equipment and related club assets and operations.
Question: Do you plan to keep the facilities for golf, tennis, swimming and dining? Or for other developments?
