LAFAYETTE ISSUES FIRST-EVER $5,000 CIVIL PENALTY TO LANDLORD WHO WON’T FIX UNITS
A Lafayette board assigned to make decisions over the worst of the city’s housing properties issued a $5,000 civil fine – the first in the board’s history – against a former Purdue basketball player who ignored orders to fix a near-downtown four-plex he rents with no heat, limited electricity and tenants who told inspectors they had no other place to go.
