OBSTRUCTION CHARGES FILED AGAINST LAFAYETTE WOMAN ACCUSED OF HELPING MAN TIED TO ATTEMPTED MURDER OF JUDGE
A Lafayette woman accused of fielding jailhouse phone calls and mail from Thomas Moss, an alleged co-conspirator in a Jan. 18 attempted murder of Tippecanoe Superior Court Judge Steve Meyer, to help him try to line up statements with others charged in the crime was charged Wednesday.
Mindi Metzinger, 35, of Lafayette, was charged with three counts of obstruction of justice and one count of assisting a criminal, all felony counts.
The charges came two days after prosecutors accused Moss of calling Metzinger from a Tippecanoe County Jail desk phone, under the guise of calling his attorneys, to arrange for her to get letters to three other people charged for their alleged roles in the attempted murder and a plot that let up to it.
