Automated license plate readers, introduced in the past year in Lafayette, are likely in West Lafayette soon, based on a proposal coming next week from the West Lafayette Police Department.
West Lafayette police will ask city officials on Tuesday to allow the department to deploy three Flock Safety cameras, which would take pictures of vehicle features and license plates as a way to help identify vehicles that have been stolen or are suspected to have been used in a crime.
