LSC, TSC, WEST SIDE DISSOLVING GLASS SPECIAL ED COOPERATIVE
Greater Lafayette’s three school corporations have initiated a plan to end Greater Lafayette Area Special Services, a special education cooperative, over the next 18 months.
The three superintendents in Lafayette, Tippecanoe and West Lafayette school corporations announced the move in letters sent late last week to staff and parents of students in GLASS programs.
The break-up was initiated by TSC, which recently announced to the GLASS board that it intended to end its participation in a partnership that extends nearly 50 years.
“The short answer is, TSC has just outgrown the efficiencies of participating in a special education cooperative,” TSC Superintendent Scott Hanback said this week.
