‘Magic bullet’ not a smoking gun in Delphi murders, attorneys say

Quiet since details about murder charges were unsealed by a judge Tuesday, court-appointed attorneys for Richard Allen released a lengthy statement Thursday evening, saying their client was “innocent and completely confused as to why he has been charged” in the 2017 killings of Delphi teens Abby Williams and Libby German.
"Rick has nothing to hide,” Brad Rozzi, a Logansport attorney, and Andrew Baldwin, an attorney based in Franklin, wrote Thursday evening, in their first statements since Judge Fran Gull ordered the release of the probable cause affidavit tied to two counts of murder.
“As importantly, we were hoping that we would receive tips that would assist us in proving up his innocence,” Rozzi and Baldwin wrote. “Not surprisingly, we have been inundated with tips from a variety of sources, all of which will be vetted by our team. …
