It was good to see so many people turn out for these events. Thanks for covering this.

Now CALL our feckless Senators daily snd tell them to follow their Oath. And then call our equally useless Congressman Baird and tell him to get back to work and stop protecting the Epstein Files from bring released. If you need phone numbers, DM me.

Meanwhile, Trump was on the links, completely oblivious of the "no kings" rallies held throughout the country. Why does this remind me of the angry crowds protesting Nixon and Kissinger's decision to invade Cambodia fifty years ago? Sorry to be so cynical, but this well-intentioned event is yet another exercise in futility.

Regardless of whether Trump is oblivious, rallies like these can serve the purpose of engaging people to act and to vote, to realize that they are not alone. Within this red state politics can feel futile a lot of the time, but futility becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy when you resign yourself to it, which is probably part of why Indiana has such low voter turnout. But, engage people and maybe they don't feel like voting is pointless, don't feel so helpless.

Organizing may not always accomplish what we hope for, but giving in to futility is guaranteed to accomplish nothing.

He's not oblivious; instead, he's in his "safe space" where he can get in a good day of cheating on his golf course.

That’s kind of accusatory to say that he cheats at golf. You don’t know that.

Thankful that there were no incidents and people were exercising their First Amendment, right, which wouldn’t happen if we had a king or dictator.

What was accomplished though?

What was accomplished?

The same thing that has been accomplished with protesting from the Boston Tea Party, to the Diner Sit-ins, to the Tea Party Rallies, to even the Jan 6 riot. People voiced their displeasure with the state of affairs at that time. Some protests were violent, others were nonviolent. But the one thing they all have in common is that people expressed displeasure and that is right protected by the first amendment.

Now, keep it non violent and it’s great thing.

What you mentioned above had tangible results.

Why didn’t those protestors (I’m assuming mostly from the left) concentrate their efforts on putting forth a viable candidate for presidency?

Shouldn’t have been that difficult to beat Trump.

It seems like a bunch of people throwing a fit because they didn’t have a viable candidate.

They aren’t protesting the results of the election (unlike the Jan 6th riotors), they are protesting the actions of Trump and his administration.

Right, I get that. But what did they accomplish?

Voiced their opinion.

The most valuable thing that can be accomplished.
