The 3/5 "compromise" isn't worth debate because regardless of the utility to one side or the other, it was wrong and evil. It has 0 merit as a tool for anything.

And that’s the bottom line. Beckwith wants us to play a game of mental Twister to somehow make his racist points.

Phthor, help me understand what beckwith’s thinking is about. He explains the 3/5 compromise; however, what does that have to do with DEI? He seems to be arguing against himself. The 3/5compromise has nothing to do with DEI! This nutty guy needs to work on analogies. He obviously doesn’t have the correct mindset. That is because his beliefs are outrageous garbage.

Cheryl, it only makes sense if you are missing 3/5th of your brain. I believe the claim is that it was anti-slavery because without it there would have been no United States, and if the USA never happened there would have been no Civil War to free the slaves? "DEI" is like "woke," the definition they use is known only by people against either thing. In other words, outrageous garbage! You got it!

Or! By getting rid of slavery, you get more "Representatives and direct Taxes" apportioned to your state. So it just makes sense to phase out slavery. Sure, then the 15th Amendment becomes a problem but you have the ability to make sure voting is controlled by using the tools of domestic terrorism and, for the almost a century it took until passage and effective enforcement of the 24th Amendment, poll taxes. And the Civil War? No, that was about "local control" ... where have we heard that recently?

Sorry, I am bad at sarcasm. This is all bonkers bilge. The reason for the compromise was made plain by Madison in Federalist 54: it "regards [the slaves] as inhabitants, but as debased by servitude below the equal level of free inhabitants, which regards the SLAVE as divested of two fifths of the MAN...The federal Constitution ... views them in the mixed character of persons and of property. This is in fact their true character."

I’m really excited about rezoning about protecting valuable farmland. It’s because of the crazy farms being turned into housing and solar farms we have held off on downsizing. We didn’t want to buy our country home for fear of a solar farm being put next door etc. It’s out of control. This needs to move throughout the state of Indiana. Farms need protection. Farmers need support.

Be interesting if Indiana's overwhelming vote for this Administration takes out a major local manufacturer. And there could be more.
