Plus, Indiana House candidate Jim Schenke makes brief appearance before walking out of Election Board hearing into violations connected to his campaign RV. Plus, Ice Cream Crawl passport winners
"...state Sen. Spencer Deery – a West Lafayette Republican who carried Senate Bill 202 – said: “I carefully crafted Indiana's new law..." to be vague enough that professors will be subject to the whims of the far right.
What would our legislature know about intellectual diversity? They do not even know what requirements are needed to be admitted to Purdue. Say what you really mean. You want to make us into a white Christian nationalist university. But it will be alright to have our athletes of color so we can win games and make $ for the school!
Schenke - I would like to read the letter. Do you have a copy of it and if so, will you publish it? I would be curious how unhinged it is. He did drop it off in a public forum during an open meeting. That said, I am of two minds. He clearly is lying about his charges against Tipp Co. officials. I understand not wanting to give false charges any more oxygen than they get already. But, I also believe in a right to know and understand first hand.
I also see the pursuit of charges related to his weird motorhome to a tempest in a teapot. He put a sign up, which to my non-legal trained mind at least tries to adhere to the intent of the law. Let it go (seems the board sort of did this by not assessing fines and kicking the issue to Indy). Lets hope this is the last election we all have to deal with election conspiracy non-sense. It's tiring at this point.
You don't see Ben Carson No-Not-That-Ben-Carson kicking up the same fuss about his violations of the election equivalent of jaywalking. But Schenke wants to be a martyr, possibly to have a comforting conspiracy that explains away his upcoming shellacking by Chris Campbell.
James K. Schenke always becomes the wierd laughing stock in any group/venue he attempts to enter. Practically everyone knows... and those that don't already know figure him out in the first interaction. He's just so pathetic... a complete red pill MAGA drone. Just look at his play book... tell me it isn't as weirdly familiar as it gets.
That's an interesting question. Arizona, a truly purple state composed of a patchwork of bright blue and bright red areas, has a ton of this kind of unhinged/OCD conspiracist. Indiana doesn't strike me as so bimodal, so perhaps we don't demonize each other? As evidence, you can certainly order our four living governors on a spectrum from Bayh to Pence, but it feels like a continuum.
This post is an emotional journey. The high point was the street address on the case and desist letter: dude lives on a street named for notorious income redustributor Robin Hood. What kinda Marxist-Leninist commune are ya running, Comrade?!?
Ice Cream is wonderful. Hope all who crawl have a great time.
As for the Schenke case, I don't understand what the heck this is about. An RV, a sign as small as a gas posting? What the? Is he running for something or something? Who in Lafayette, with our incredible news source, would know. (No knocks to you Dave; you do the most.)
ACLU filing suite against Indiana’s new “intellectual diversity”, I can see. It might be premature but sure is needed. When "the state" decides what highly educated professors can teach, I would like to point out that "the state" in question is made up of a lot folks who are not highly educated but who are highly partisan in thought and deed. This state already is becoming lower and lower in quality of life, let's not try to take great Universities down with it. Intellectual diversity is just that. Teach and let the students decide. Not the "state".
And yes, I have to say something about baby Jacob. It's an horrific tragedy. I alarmed that this happened. I have no idea what kind of mental health would lead to this. Hug your kids, you moms, your dads, and everyone else you love. And be thankful.
Vote for Chris Campbell 💙‼️
Certainly feels like a more logical choice

In re. Jim Schenke’s ongoing temper tantrum: I can think of *someone* I’d like to see cease and desist…

Makes me wonder how many of him there are across IN - when nearly every GOP candidate wins but they still claim voter fraud?
