NEW ATHLETIC COMPLEX ACROSS FROM MCCUTCHEON, HARRISON CAFETERIA RENOVATIONS ANTICIPATE ‘ELBOW ROOM’ FOR TSC

Planned renovations at Tippecanoe School Corp.’s two high schools, including the first phase of an athletic complex on 30 acres across Old U.S. 231 from McCutcheon High School, are expected to start later this year, according to plans laid out for the TSC school board this week.

The work, slated to finish in time for the start of the 2027-28 school year, would include reworking classrooms in a portion of McCutcheon High School and adding to Harrison High School’s cafeteria, while setting up both campuses for possible expansion later.

“We went through a long-range plan with respect to both the high schools and asked some architects and engineers to consider our future growth,” TSC Superintendent Scott Hanback said. “We asked two things.”

One was whether there were departments at each school in need of renovation – “and the answer is 100% yes, in particular at McCutcheon,” Hanback said.

Second was: If the high schools, part of a district with the 11th largest enrollment in Indiana, needed to expand later to keep up with the student body, where could that happen?
