That's me too. I have family and friends who travel great distances to go, but although a life time Hoosier, this has never appealed to me at all. The only drivers that I even know are the couple who were on Dancing With the Stars. When our youth group as teens went for the time trials a couple times, we just went to check out the boys.
My daughter met the previous owners at Wimbledon when people noticed she spoke with an American accent. They took her over to meet the other Americans there and she got a kick out of finding out they lived in Indy and she was from WL. She had no clue who they were and found out several days later. Obviously she inherited the lack of interest in the 500.
I like how it brings $$$$ to the state, but that's for others to contribute.
You didn’t leave “I don’t care about this sport” as an alternative response. FYI I don’t care about this sport.

I'm a third-generation fan. I have been to the 500 race several times, and I will go again next year. I also enjoy Formula One and sports car racing.
I’m personally working with a confusing mix of both: tv broadcast on in main room while carrying around my phone with radio broadcast.
As an enthusiast, on TV along with the Leaderboard on the Indycar app.
