A Chicago-based developer who built the Hub West Lafayette high-rise in 2019 now proposes a major plan to redevelop Chauncey Hill Mall at the crest of State Street hill.
Hub Chauncey – a plan from Core Spaces for a 13-story mix of student- and market-rate apartments, retail and office space and an extensive community plaza – is the third concept in the past six years for a property that is just around the corner from Purdue’s campus and considered among the most prime pieces of real estate in West Lafayette’s downtown.
“This is one we’ve all been waiting for,” Ryan O’Gara, assistant director of the Area Plan Commission, said this week, unfurling draft plans for Hub Chauncey delivered to his office Feb. 24.
