I'd really hoped this state had reached its rock bottom with Rokita, but Beckwith proved me wrong on that. A pathetic excuse for a Christian, elected by the kind of Christians who have no interest in the teachings of Christ.

"...the kind of Christians who have no interest in the teachings of Christ."

You seem to be referring to MAGAts at large and the new American Christian Nationalist --- who needs years of theological training when "I have a friend in Jesus, and his support for the 2nd amendment?"

Indeed. Guys like Beckwith are not just un-Christian, they're anti-Christian. The last thing a guy like Beckwith wants is for people to be understanding the lessons of the Sermon on the Mount or the Parable of the Good Samaritan. The Gospel According to the Lord Donald Trump appeals far more to their morality of hate and vengeance.

let's see what Lt. Gov. Beckwith's "reach" is among Republican primary election voters. He seems to be on a "take no prisoners" venture. Will responsible voters follow his questionable lead ? Alting seems to have answered Beckwith's charges. He defended his voting record on abortion restrictions well. However, Alting still disappointed many with his stance on redistricting.

Beckwith is a walking plague for this state. Frankly, my opinion is that sex scandal out of this church will soon grow to envelope him. His pastors son just got 6 years for possession of very dark stuff, and Beckwith is like a stones throw away from that (he works at the church). He also hosts a weirdo podcast with the pastor which mentions gross stuff about how teens should be sexual in a “okay with god” way. Lots of normalizing in this state for years allows for a slimeball like Beckwith to be Lt Gov.

I think his reach is quite large. Pastor, cybertruck driver, thinks Holcomb was too woke, etc.

For a GOP primary, that is exactly the majority of voters.

But, for a general election, in a non-presidential election year…

I am fearful that you are correct. I remember how he got to be Lt. Gov. in the first place. He worked the "nasty base" of the badly divided Hoosier Republican party.

Beckwith is making a fool of himself; also, he needs a stylist. YIKES.

Ad hominem attacks are not appropriate in political discussions; except in the case of Beckwith, another steaming pile of Rokita.

"If you can't say something good about someone, sit right here by me," attributed to Alice Roosevelt Longworth, daughter of President Theodore Roosevelt.

It's frightening that Beckwith pretends to be a man of God. I'd suggest rereading the good book.

Assuming Ron Alting can survive the primary (I really hope he does), Beckwiths attacks makes his general election easier.

Has Sen Alting ever answered for his support of redistricting? If he thought it would help defend him from a right wing primary opponent, he was very wrong.

JPC,

NO, HE HAS NOT! Soft pandering to the MAGAts.

At least Beckwith's criticism was rooted in Alting's voting record.

----

"Brown said he didn’t plan to step down but would continue to provide Alvarez with access to the same party data and information offered to all Republican candidates. He said party chairs have often run for elected office, including in local primaries, “but this is the first time I can remember a party chair has been asked to step down.”

Not just Tippecanoe, but does anyone have references for other party chairs running for State seats? I would be curious to see how those communities went about the issue.

OK. I'm just gonna say it. Micah dresses like a gay man. Everybody can see this. I have no problem with guy men or women, but this asshat is really annoying me. Altings's comment was actually funny. Beckwith is the worst of the worst for Indiana because he fronts as a christian nationalist and is a total charade. I'm probably have to sign off now.
