Dave. Great article, I enjoy articles exploring local talent that is not as well known as say musicians. Brian Leung does some fun, quirky things on Nextdoor which can brighten one’s day, give a chuckle or elicit a smile. I often chuckle when he asks a crazy question and others take it seriously and are distraught. Someone eventually says- “ it’s a joke”. We need more folks like Brian sharing positive, fun things! Thanks for publishing.
Based on that Q&A excerpt, I would subscribe to Based in Lafayette if I wasn't already a subscriber, and I'd read that kind gentleman's book if I hadn't written it.
I am so sorry I didn’t make it to hear this live. Yes Brian is a celeb on Nextdoor - and is sometimes the ONLY reason for checking in on it.
These kind of discussions with locals is a great idea, Dave. There are so many interesting people to converse with and to learn about. We don’t always appreciate the people around us for what we can learn from them or just recognize we have things in common.
I'm very sorry I was unable to come to this talk. Brian is not just a Nextdoor denizen - he's a Nextdoor STAR. Everyone looks forward to his bad jokes and they brighten up our days.

Interviewing local authors is a great idea. Melissas Fraterrigo has a new book coming out in September in case you hadn't heard.
And will have an event at Purdue celebrating it.
I was there and it was wonderful. So, yes I would love it if you did this sort of thing again at Second Flight Books.
