PROGRESS REPORT: WABASH WALLS 2024
How about a quick Monday morning circuit, checking up midway on a hot Wabash Walls mural festival?
Since opening Tuesday, Aug. 20, two murals are done and others are taking shape on both sides of the Wabash River in the annual festival curated by The Arts Federation.
This year’s Wabash Walls pieces are spread through the Historic Jefferson and Lincoln neighborhoods in Lafayette and into West Lafayette, too, with canvases that include bridge abutments near the Wabash River, a West Side strip center, an upper portion of Wabash Landing and along the roofline of the Tippecanoe County Public Library.
A dedication is set for 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, in the Wabash Landing plaza in West Lafayette.
Until then, there’s time to check out the six artists and their progress. Here’s a look where things stood Monday morning.
Tristan Eaton, Wabash Landing Apartments (in the walkway at Wabash Landing), West Lafayette
Shane Hello, 307 Sagamore Parkway W. (behind the building that includes Silver Dipper Ice Cream), West Lafayette
Grace the Streets, 1201 Cincinnati St., Lafayette
Rabi Towing, Food Finders Food Bank warehouse, 10th and Roberts streets, Lafayette
Hiero Veiga, Tippecanoe County Public Library, Jos Holman Branch, 627 South St., Lafayette
Zach Medler, 210 N. 11th St. (in the alley), Lafayette
Primed for work: Two pylons under the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge, West Lafayette side.

My cousin and I were at the Library, Wabash Landing, and the strip mall in West Lafayette, on Navajo Drive, near Mikes Car Wash. Got to talk to and watch the artist working. Great job TAF.
TAF works really hard on curating these artist opportunities that benefit our communities.
