PUMPING DELAYED AT SECOND TEST WELL SITE ALONG WABASH RIVER FOR LEAP PROJECT

Test well pumping at a second western Tippecanoe County site along the Wabash River, initially expected to start earlier this week in an ongoing study of aquifers desired by the Indiana Economic Development Corp. for development two counties away, is now slated to start the week of Dec. 11, county commissioners were told Thursday.

Tippecanoe County Commissioner Tom Murtaugh confirmed that the IEDC reported that testing had been pushed back two weeks on acreage along County Road 75 South, about a mile-and-a-half southwest of Granville Bridge on County Road 700 West. Neighbors were told Thursday evening the delay was because the contractor “couldn't get assembled" until that Monday.

That squares up with reports from Granville area residents, who have been checking for progress on the property from neighbors’ land.
