Southern Airways Express will run 24 weekly round-trip flights between West Lafayette and Chicago O’Hare Airport, starting in spring 2024, the first regularly scheduled commercial flights out of the Purdue Airport in two decades, the university announced Friday.
The airline, part of Palm Beach, Florida-based Surf Air Mobility Inc., would fly as many as four flights in and four flights out of the Purdue Airport daily, first using the current terminal on the western edge of campus and eventually servicing a new, $11 million terminal expected to be built by May 2025.
