If Purdue was putting up roadblocks meant to frustrate or stop next week’s visit to the West Lafayette campus by Daily Wire commentator Michael Knowles – something an attorney for sponsors accused the university of in a letter sent Wednesday – all had been cleared by Thursday.
After the Young America’s Foundation threatened to sue, saying Purdue was backing off the controversial event by withholding final approval and permission for student groups to advertise Knowles’ March 23 speech, Purdue Provost Patrick Wolfe said the university had no plans to stop the speech.
