Student leaders voice concern, state and local Democrats rally for better campus access to vote centers, with Election Board set Friday to add an early site at Purdue’s Co-Rec.
I’m still unclear on who or what entity decided that there wouldn’t be polling places on campus. Is it the county? Purdue University? I’m late to this story.
I think, rather than it being a decision NOT to have polling places, it was the lack of any request/decision TO have them. (Sorry about the caps, not shouting, just for emphasis).
So now that it’s been noticed, they’re scrambling to get one. Purdue doesn’t seem to be overly excited, so “they” is local citizens and groups that are concerned about voting rights .

Purdue has to come up with the recommended site, and Tippecanoe County Election Board is the entity that has to approve it.
