DATE SET FOR FIRST FLIGHTS OUT OF PURDUE AIRPORT
The first flights between Purdue Airport and Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, in the return of commercial passenger service in two decades, will be May 15, a Southern Airways Express official confirmed Friday.
Reservations for flights out of Purdue Airport are scheduled to be open March 15, Mark Cestari, chief commercial officer with the Palm Beach, Florida-based airline, said.
“We had four cities when I started, and we have 54 now, so I’ve opened a lot of markets,” Cestari said. “And I tell you, the outpouring of support from both the Purdue community and the Lafayette community has been the best I’ve ever seen.”
