SK HYNIX EYES DIFFERENT WEST LAFAYETTE SITE FOR $3.87B CHIP FACILITY, UP FOR REZONING THIS WEEK
A 121-acre tract up for rezoning north of Kalberer Road – one getting pushback from residents in surrounding West Lafayette neighborhoods before a hearing scheduled for Wednesday – is now being pinned as the future site of SK hynix’s $3.87 billion chip packaging and research facility.
This week, Purdue Research Foundation officials informed county planners that the South Korean semiconductor company was exploring property stretching from Yeager Road to Salisbury Street/County Road 50 West as an option for its 430,000-square-foot facility, expected to open in late 2028.
