SOUTH RIVER ROAD HOUSING PLAN SCRAPPED, FOR NOW
Residents who live along and near South River Road applauded Monday morning when a developer withdrew a request to rezone 22 acres that would have cleared the way for a dense array of single-family homes, duplexes and apartments.
Attorney Kevin Riley, representing Lafayette-based Trinitas Development LLC, asked commissioners to give another two-week delay so the developer could continue to look at options for the property.
Commissioners said they weren’t inclined to wait longer to vote on the matter, given that they’d already had allowed Trinitas two delays in May.
