Earl McCoy, former candidate for judge and prosecutor, accused in after-hours office incident. Plus, March Madness takes. Career Academy’s restaurant, now serving. Youth songwriting scholarship open
Earl McCoy – a Lafayette attorney who ran unsuccessfully for prosecutor and judge in the past decade and lately has positioned himself as a local TV legal commentator – was charged Wednesday for attempted sexual battery, accused of trying to force an employee to touch him after hours in his law firm’s conference room.
A woman, now a former employee, told police that McCoy pinned her against a wall after she’d rejected his advances and grabbed her arm in an attempt to guide it to his crotch during a post-work incident in May 2022, according to court documents.
