LPD chief says investigation could take months to go through witnesses’ video of confrontation between driver in Trump gear and anti-Trump demonstrators in downtown Lafayette
Where were the Lafayette Police protecting the First Amendmentists from the Second Amendmentist walking through the crowd with his "militia" implement.
Also, why wasn't Jordan ticketed for leaving a vehicle "parked" at the corner impeding traffic when he decided to walk through the crowd with his rifle?
But on the bright side, at least he didn't leave the vehicle with a weapon inside it so that a below legal-age person didn't have access to it.
Galloway says "months" to solve this very mysterious case. From everything I've read, which may or may not be true, the gun couple came downtown specifically to be involved with the protest. This will be a tedious case to watch. BTW, I heard, but did not see, that Indiana was called out on national television as the only protest in the country that day that had any trouble. If so, aren't we proud?
Yes, the gun couple had the intention but also knew how to avoid prosecution. That hands up move fatso did was the perfect predicate needed to march around with his pretend AR like a big boy. The cops knew at the time what we will find out much later, at great public expense: there is either no gun crime here or the prosecutor is unwilling to charge one (and thereby become a target of howling gun nuts).
If you don't like that, your best option is to repeal the Second Amendment, because it will be 30+ years before there will be enough turnover on the Supreme Court for any chance they will admit it was only ever about militias (eg National Guard).
Yes, Maddow mentioned it on her show. It was in the context of good news that only one incident occurred in the country. Bad news that it was us. She only said Indiana; didn’t specify Lafayette, though.
I'm not at all troubled that this will take months. Justice, takes time. And we certainly can't argue that the wrongly deported need more time for due process while denying time for due process for the people involved in this skirmish. I have two legal questions if Dave has attorney's following this thread. Is it self defense if you exit a confrontation and have safe access to your vehicle, but instead of getting in the vehicle, you return to the confrontation with a gun? Also, is it self defense to head butt someone in defense of a third party? Take your time thinking about and replying.
It’s interesting that the incident which was blown off in a matter of hours, is now expected to take months to investigate. Months = thorough.
I appreciate that they saw the need for a special prosecutor as well, to avoid that conflict of interest mentioned in the article.

He didn't honk, otherwise it would have been Game On.
Or -- just spitballing here -- policing isn't fair.
Yeah...one of the young civic volunteers in the orange vests was yelled at by the Lafayette police

Yes it sounds like it will now get the analysis it needs to make a just decision. We can wait.
Whatever happens legally there's no question that the Trump guy got his ass handed to him and ended up looking like a total weenie 🤷🏻♂️
Are the Lafayette police trumpeters or just believe that women could not possibly be trusted more than the maga macho man?
