TAKE A LOOK AT NEW SKATEPARK PLAN, AS VISION, PRICE GROW

Plans for a new skatepark – a combined effort by the city of Lafayette, Tippecanoe County and Faith Ministries – were presented to a group of skaters last week, with construction expected to start in early fall, Faith officials said.

Here’s a look at a video schematic pulled together by Hunger Skateparks, an Indiana-based company called in to design it:

According to Arvid Olson, with Faith Ministries, the park will be approximately 330-by-65 feet and designed for skateboarders and bikers along the south end of the main Faith East parking long along Indiana 26. It will have exclusive pieces, including a moon-inspired feature and a cradle crater – “A salute to Purdue astronauts,” Olson said – five shade sail rest areas and ADA-compliant access.

One new feature is the cost.
