If the board rejects her budget, does it default to the previous years budget?

I thought that was part of the disagreement from previous years.

It wasn't clear yesterday. The CPA working with the trustee said the main issue is that the tax rate had been advertised low and isn't in a position to be raised. The answers were a bit murky.

Actually, yes it does. That is an option if she is not removed. If she is removed, the budget process can be reset. Either option is far better than what she proposes. A recession is coming, a pandemic alert can come through again at any time and that means we need the funds to help people as much as we can. All the money she has blown is one of the reasons you pick people who take their responsibilities seriously.

Exactly! Other then being petty and vengeful, there is no reason to lower the rate and tie the hands of the trustee and board next year.

I am waiting for events to pan out, but if she is not removed, which is the best option, then I will suggest at the Oct 11 meeting that we reject the budget. If we do we will sign the forms, and I will send one to DLGF and SBOA so that they see we have rejected them. I know she is capable of submitting her budget in defiance. This has been a game of chess and we are coming down to the wire. This has been a wild 4 years and despite me term almost being over, I will continue to be involved if I can.
