The Little Mermen, 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 20, Long Center for the Performing Arts, 111 N. Sixth St., Lafayette — The Little Merman (and some Little Mermaids) have been dubbed “the ultimate Disney tribute band” because the act covers 100 years of Disney tunes from such iconic films as “Frozen,” “Mary Poppins” and, of course, “The Little Mermaid.” There are costume changes galore and the audience is encouraged to sing along to their favorite Disney songs. Chances are parents will be singing louder than their kids. $15 and $20. Tickets.
Doom Room Field Day, 3 p.m. Saturday, June 21, Tippecanoe County Amphitheater, 4449 Indiana 43, West Lafayette — Heavy metal and competitive activities collide for the 10th year at the annual Doom Room Field Day. Before and between bands, teams can sign up to play quick games of cornhole, dodgeball, ladder ball and more. Winning teams gain points and the chance at the big trophy. To commemorate a decade of outdoor fun, the Doom Room will collaborate with Indiana’s BMFX Wrestling. Matches and even a battle royale will also be held between bands on the spacious grounds of the Tippecanoe Amphitheater. Performing this year are metal bands Salivus, Murder Burger, Throne of Iron, Only Human and Chicago thrash act Bloodletter. Punk rock will be represented by Lafayette’s own Yesterday’s Chips. This event is all ages. $20, kids younger than 12 are free.
Taste of Tippecanoe, 5-11 p.m. Saturday, June 21, downtown Lafayette — Downtown Lafayette’s favorite celebration of local food, music and art returns with a great lineup of live entertainment. Three stages will host DJs, singer-songwriters, jazz cats, country singers and the welcome return of the reggae/rocksteady/ska/soul sounds of Green Room Rockers. Also on the footprint will be two performances from the Greater Lafayette Dance Collective (6 and 7:30 p.m.), a flowstar performance from Indianapolis Flowmies, and kid-friendly hands-on art with Flourish. Tickets.

Lower Automation with Isolation Tank Ensemble, Blacklight Nightmare and Lucius Fox, 4 p.m. Sunday, June 22, North End Pub, 2100 Elmwood Ave., Lafayette — After a Saturday afternoon of metal, games and pro wrestling, the fine humans in The Doom Room will get weird for a Sunday matinee. Live music fans will be treated to a day of mathy noise, epic prog metal, instrumental jams and other insane sounds. Chicago’s Lower Automation will serve as headliner with its manic sound reminiscent to a ’00s screamo throwback mixed with classic At the Drive-In. Also on the bill are Kalamazoo, Michigan, instrumental duo Lucius Fox, which have a fuller sound than most five-piece bands. Another instrumental band will bring the eclectic and “cinematic” vibes in the form of Isolation Tank Ensemble from Louisville, Kentucky. Blacklight Nightmare is the only Indiana band on the bill, but local metal fans will recognize Chris Charles from Bizarre Noir, one of the weirdest Indianapolis bands I’ve ever seen. And if you’re doing the math (rock), Doom Room will present 10 bands over the weekend counting Saturday’s Field Day event. Please dance extra hard in thanks. $10, $5 with Field Day pass.
Amy LaVere and Will Sexton, 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, People’s Brewing Company, 2006 N. Ninth St., Lafayette — Memphis, Tennessee, country music hit couple Amy LaVere and Will Sexton will make their return to People’s Brewing Company next week. The husband and wife have become People’s regulars in recent years, but LaVere’s tour stops in Greater Lafayette date all the way back to the LayFlats music festival days of the late ’00s in West Lafayette. $15. Tickets.
