West Lafayette signals plans to build early childhood education center
Negotiations started with PRF for location, design coming in 2025 on center for 100, with room to expand. Follows release of childcare gap analysis West Lafayette did with WL, TSC schools.
West Lafayette is negotiating with Purdue Research Foundation for land that could house a near early childhood education center on the northern edge of the city, city officials said Wednesday.
Part of the West Lafayette Redevelopment Commission’s spending plan for 2025 includes $250,000 for design work on a center that could take 100 pre-K child and would be set up in a way that could be expanded later.
A timeline and projected cost weren’t discussed Wednesday.
But the plans came as the city delivered the results of the West Lafayette Early Childcare Gap Analysis, a study the redevelopment commission did with the West Lafayette Community School Corp. and the Tippecanoe School Corp.
