WEST LAFAYETTE SCHOOL BOARD OK’S NEW CHILLER FOR FORMER HAPPY HOLLOW ELEMENTARY
West Lafayette Community School Corp. will spend $489,000 to replace the chiller on the former Happy Hollow Elementary this summer. The school board approved the work with Eberhardt Heating and Cooling during its Monday meeting.
The move came after a consultant reported earlier in the evening that recent community surveys and focus groups suggested that the school corporation keep and renovate a facility that closed in October 2018 but now is home to assorted extracurricular school activities and rented space.
“There’s a tremendous amount of energy for maintaining the current uses of the facility, because they are delivering value for students,” Adam Jones, a consultant with SkyBound Education, told school board members Monday night.
