A LOOK AT CASON FAMILY PARK, WEST LAFAYETTE’S FIRST NEW PARK IN 20 YEARS
What started as an effort seven years ago to save, move and preserve a 19th century, one-room schoolhouse has turned into plans for Cason Family Park, a 30-acre site that will be West Lafayette’s first new park in 20 years.
The West Lafayette Redevelopment Commission on Thursday signed off on a maximum price of $17.7 million for the park on Cumberland Road, featuring a pond for kayaks and canoes, a boathouse, an amphitheater, trails, an outdoor classroom and a playground, with the renovated Morris School as the centerpiece.
