25-year-old Lafayette man slammed on brakes when he saw a house fire early Monday, saved 6-year-old with leap from second-floor window
My admiration goes out to this guy: Someone who does something extraordinary, sees his life flashing before him, finds the strength to push through and save the girl.
THEN wonders what all the fuss is about because he believes anyone else would have done the same for him. That is determination, caring, and humility.
That is how I define hero and neighbor.
Thank God that young man had his wits about him the whole time. He deserves all the credit due to him. Now the family needs to rebuild their lives with all family members still with them.
