For commuters currently using 9th Street to get to and from the South Side, now you have efficient 4th Street to use instead! Plus, you can get a nice doughnut on your way. You don't have to get stuck in traffic on 9th and Teal any longer.
I fear that we will not be happy with this conversion to 2-way traffic. There have been many times I had to change lanes to avoid a parked truck delivering goods to one of the stores along 3rd or 4th. That will no longer be possible.
Maybe I'll understand as I use it, but I haven't really been able to figure out the point of this project so far. Is it just to make things more intuitive for people from out of town?

It slows cars down [1]. That might enable Lafayette to expand its pedestrian zone north [citation needed].
