A one year study is in no way sufficient to determine if this taking of water will harm Tippecanoe County or its aquifer. If the politicians want "science" to determine their decisions, they might want to ask our local hydrogeologists how long the study should be.

One compromise would be to give the county and mayors the power to turn the spigot on and off. First, of course, limit pumping, but also, draw the pumping down to 0 when the aquifer drops below 75%. In other words, plan for 25% of the aquifer as the total that can be pumped.

I don't trust Deery at all on this. A suspect study where the IEDC buys its desired results is aimed exactly at a guy like him, to give him a fig leaf for doing what the party wants him to do. He bought bogus misinterpretations and bad science to justify his vote against care for trans kids, and he'll buy whatever bullshit the LEAP consultant is selling on this too.

Vote deery out of office. He doesn’t have one good plan for Indiana. He is against abortion; but thinks it is all right for anyone to carry a gun without a permit. Military style weapons are just fine. No conflict there!
