Wonderful follow-up to a story that has a happy ending. "Stone's stones," as coined by Purdue Dean of Students Emerita Betty M. Nelson, live on with a vibrant new life in the Purdue Memorial Union. Thank you, Dave Bangert!
Thank you for once again covering this story, not only for the historic handling of these pieces, but also for honoring Betty’s ongoing care and concern about the legacy of Purdue. From the support for the archives to keeping Panhellenic aware and involved in the memorial to Bev, her heart has been and will always be with the activities of students at Purdue past and present. Who will carry her torch in the future??
What a GRAND ending to this series of events, and a tribute to happily ever after. Having been a student on campus during the Betty Nelson era, and witnessed all the legacy of Bev Stone, I am excited to see this resolution. "Stone's Stones" will be an awesome tribute to the PMU renovation and as a gateway to the LL of the Union. I am excited to note them standing so serene - as part of "Ole Purdue" in the Union. Nicely done Purdue and Thank you Mr. Bangert! Kudos to Betty Nelson for her drive and energy to preserve tradition. G deJong CFS'78
I confess to be equally interested in the background information which illustrates one portion of the unfortunate privatizing and corporatization of public university property and services.

Amen!
Great story, Dave, about two very strong and important women and their role in the history of our university.

I second and quadruple that!
